The problem is that bare sex is hugely popular in the gay scene. Most men who have sex without condoms don't care that they risk contracting STDs and/or HIV, or that they infect others through their sexual behavior. You can only protect yourself by not having unsafe sex with unknown strangers. If you do have unprotected sex, you are consciously taking the risk of becoming infected
